Sweets
Tartine Bakery (Mission) Best baked goods in the city. Nothing beats their fresh baked break. Pick up a pastry and enjoy it at Dolores Park (right around the corner). They have good coffee too.
Over the Moon Ice Cream (Marina and Embarcadero) High-quality, slow-churned, made in small batches. They are very generous with samples. The server let me try at least 5. Recommend: Earl Grey and Honey.
Doughbies (All over SF) Cookie delivery service. You order online and the cookies are delivered to your home or office by either car or bike! The cookies are chewy and delicious. Recommend: Chocolate Chip Sea Salt.
Bob’s Donuts (Nob Hill) 24-hour donut shop. You cannot go wrong here.
Dynamo Donut + Coffee (Marina and Mission) Delicious donuts.
Smitten Ice Cream (Hayes Valley) Small batches of hand-crafted ice cream made with liquid nitrogen.
Bi-Rite Creamery (Mission) The line is always out the door and around the corner, but that’s how you know it’s good. On a sunny day, the Delores park location will have an hour or longer wait. Worth every minute though. They have unique flavor such as cannoli, roasted banana, and vegan chocolate coconut. The ice cream is rich and creamy but does not make you feel sick.
CREAM (Multiple locations) Famous ice cream shop in Berkeley. I came here for a tasting event.
Buena Vista (North Beach) Famous for their Irish coffees. I recommend going during the week because it is a big tourist attraction.
Loving Cup (Russian Hill) My favorite fro-yo place in the city. They blend the toppings into the yogurt. My personal favorite is banana bread—vanilla yogurt with bananas, walnuts, and cinnamon. The yogurt is rich and creamy, definitely a notch above Yogurtland and Pink Berry. You can also get banana frozen yogurt, which is just blended banana.
Mr. Holmes Bakehouse (Tenderloin) A famous bakery in the city known for their cruffins (croissant-muffins). They only make 150 cruffins a day which are gone by 10am.
Humphry Slocombe (Ferry Building) Get the Secret Breakfast
Mr. and Mrs. Miscellaneous (Potrero Hill) Get the Toffee
